How to measure your ring size
Want to get your ring size right the first time? Use one of these two methods at home.
Finding the perfect fit is essential. Rings that are too tight can be uncomfortable, while those too loose may slip off. Here are two simple ways to measure your size at home.
Method 1: Measure Your Finger
- Decide which finger you’ll wear the ring on.
- Cut a narrow strip of paper (or use non-stretchy string) and wrap it around the base of your finger.
- Mark where the ends meet with a pen.
- Lay the strip flat and measure the length in millimetres with a ruler.
- Use our size chart below to match your measurement to a ring size.
Tips:
- Measure in the evening, when fingers are slightly larger.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold.
- Repeat two or three times for accuracy.
- For wide bands, consider going up a size.
Method 2: Measure an Existing Ring
- Choose a ring that fits the intended finger well.
- Place it on a flat surface and measure the internal diameter (the distance across the inside) in millimetres.
- Match this measurement to the chart below to find the corresponding size.
